Classic Coleslaw

This timeless cabbage salad is perfect for your next lunch or barbecue.

  • 1 cup Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon caster sugar
  • 3 teaspoon American mild mustard
  • 2 cups finely shredded red cabbage
  • 2 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup finely shredded carrot
  • 1 small red capsicum, deseeded, thinly sliced
  • 1 small green capsicum, deseeded, thinly sliced
  • 3 spring onions, thinly sliced
  • snipped chives, to garnish
  • toasted pepita seeds, to garnish


  • Combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, sugar and mustard in a large bowl.

  • Add cabbage, carrot, green and red capsicum and spring onions. Season with salt and pepper.

  • Serve coleslaw topped with snipped chives and toasted pepitas
