The Surf'n'Turf Burger

SURF AND TURF BURGER

A delicious meeting of the ocean and paddock.... this burger is a gourmet meal in a bun!

Ingredients

  • 2 x 150 g beef eye fillet steaks
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 large raw king prawns, peeled
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Hellmann's Real Mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 2 crusty bread rolls, cut in half

Directions

  1. Allow steak to come to room temperature. Heat a frying pan over high heat until hot. Drizzle steaks on both sides with a little oil. Season beef with salt and pepper. Place steaks on the pre-heated pan and reduce heat to medium. Cook 3–4 mins on one side, then flip and cook another 3–4 mins. Transfer steaks to a clean plate, cover loosely with foil and rest for 5 mins before serving.

  2. Heat remaining oil in frying pan over medium heat. Add prawns and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, for 3-4 minutes until just cooked through. Transfer to a chopping board and slice prawns, horizontally, in half.

  3. Combine Hellmann’s mayonnaise, tomato paste and lime juice in a bowl. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  4. Thinly slice beef. Place lettuce onto burger bun cases. Top with beef, prawns and mayonnaise mixture. Top with steak, prawns, mayonnaise mixture and bun tops.
